Republican Scientific Practical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics (Minsk, Belarus) has more than 20 years of experience in replacement of large joints, both primary and secondary revision.

Every year, more than 600 hip and 300 knee replacements, as well as shoulder, elbow and ankle arthroplasty are performed in the Republican Scientific Practical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics (Minsk, Belarus).

Service region:

  • Total arthroplasty of large joints:

– Minsk city polyclinics No. 3, 12, 20, 31, 32, 33, 35, 38 (according to the order of the health Committee No.709 dated 06.11.2014);

– complex, non-standard cases of primary endoprosthesis replacement – according to referral from regional specialists.

  • Revision re-arthroplasty of the hip and knee joints – according to the areas of service and referrals from regional specialists.
  • Operative and conservative treatment of any orthopaedic-traumatological pathology to foreign citizens – paid medical services.

Postoperative period

From the first day after surgery, exercise therapy is carried out under the supervision of instructor and doctor. From days 2-3, the patient begins to move with crutches. In the postoperative period, the necessary medicinal therapy (antibiotics, analgesics, low molecular weight heparins for the prevention of thrombosis, IV infusion, vasoregulators, etc.) is carried out. Time spent in hospital is from 5 to 12 days after surgery.

Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation of patients after endoprosthetics can be carried out in the conditions of  Republican Scientific Practical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics (Minsk, Belarus)  — department of physiotherapy and physical therapy, or the Republican Clinical Hospital of Medical Rehabilitation. Scheduled medical examinations of patients in the dynamics are carried out directly by the operating surgeon or head office throughout the observation period.
