To provide of emergency assistance intended the next reception rooms:

An exam room (male and female),
Gypsum room, Dressing room,
Procedure room,
Sanitation room.

From the other clinic units for emergency also used: emergency operating unit, resuscitation room of the anesthesiology and resuscitation department, one of the X-ray cabinets of the department of radiology, clinical diagnostics laboratory and ultrasound room.

Main activities:

In the emergency room patients with trauma are given specialized care, hospitalized in traumatologic and orthopedic department of the clinic RSPC TO, sent to the inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities by duty traumatologists-orthpedists doctors on a 24-hour basis.

Emergency specialized trauma care provides:

Restoration of the anatomical ratios of soft tissues and bones by conservative and operational methods;
Immobilization with soft and plaster bandages;
Imposition of skeletal traction;
Removal of foreign bodies and anti-shock therapy.

In the admission department neurosurgery patients and spinal injuries, patients are given specialized care by duty neurosurgeon on a 24-hour basis.

All admitted patients are recorded in “Patient admission and refusal of hospitalization log” or in “Outpatient logbook” by nurse on duty.

Every patient is examined by traumatologist-orthopedist or neurosurgeon. The necessary X-ray and other researches are produced, consultants are invited if necessary.

After diagnosis made and necessary help to the patient is provided the doctor made a notice in a log with: detailed circumstances; mechanism; type of injury; conducted research; diagnosis; therapeutic measures; expert advices; recommendations; patient data; place of further treatment.

The patient issued with the application of appeal to the emergency department of the clinic in which it is indicated: surname and initials of patient; his year of birth; date and time of appeal; diagnosis; diagnostic and treatment measures; recommendations; medical department in which it is necessary to appear for the further treatment; instruction for the further treatment; doctor’s surname and stamp.

Patients who needs an emergency prevention of tetanus is injected in the admission department, and this action is noted in the patient reception logs with noticing of all the injections, medical histories or references of the appeal and sent to the hospitals by place of a person residence.

On admission of patients with wounds caused by animals and birds the emergency help is given to them according to the order of MH RB. The information is transmitted to the district disinfection station, patients are sent to the anti-rabies rooms by the place of their residence. The attending doctor records this in the damage (caused by animals and birds) registration log.

In the difficult diagnostic cases and treatment methods patients are consulted by leading scientists of the institute, department heads and, during the night, the clinic attendant is responsible for the patients. The consultants from the research staff or department heads of RSPC TO or other clinics are invited as appropriate.
