Neurosurgical Department No. 2

Neurosurgical Department No. 2 is designed for 40 beds and operates on the basis of the Republican scientific and practical center of traumatology and orthopedics since January 1, 2004. The Department receives patients with injuries of the spine and spinal cord, both in the acute period and in different periods of traumatic spinal cord disease, as well as patients with various diseases of the spine. To clarify the diagnosis, the features of the lesion or damage to the spine and spinal cord, limb bones, x-ray, computer x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging, electrophysiological methods are used.

The Department employs 5 highly qualified specialists:

Bobryk Pavel – head of Department, candidate of medical Sciences, neurosurgeon of the highest qualification category;

Niachayeu Ruslan - neurosurgeon of the highest qualification category;

Shybko Tatsiana - neurosurgeon of the highest qualification category;

Zholnerovich Oleg - neurosurgeon of the first qualification category;

Vashchylin Victar - neurologist of the first qualification category.

The unit has the superior wards, including a private room in a Deluxe version. The Department has a 24-hour medical post, treatment and dressing rooms.

We have developed original methods of diagnosis and surgical treatment for injuries and diseases of the spine, protected by patents.

The main directions of neurosurgical care in the neurosurgical Department No. 2:

surgical interventions on the spine for injuries and diseases at various levels using modern titanium implants.
surgical interventions on the spine in primary vertebral tumors at different levels;
surgery for spinal deformities (spondylolisthesis, kyphosis, scoliosis);
surgery for injuries and diseases of the coccyx;
vertebroplasty in injuries and diseases of the spine at different levels;
surgical interventions on the spine in syringohydromyelia;
surgical interventions in heterotopic ossifications in spinal patients (this type of surgery is original and is not performed in other clinics in the post-Soviet space).

Primary rehabilitation treatment of operated patients is carried out using the base of the center, first of all, the capabilities of the physiotherapy Department (therapeutic swimming in the pool, manual and underwater – massage, electroprocedures, laser magnetic therapy, acupuncture, physical therapy in the hall and with an instructor for an individual program).
